A studio charges $130 to $190 to weld two bracelets. This kit is both of you, at home: one holds out a wrist, the other closes the clasp, then you swap. Best friends before a move, a couple on date night, a mom and daughter before the college drop-off.

There's no guessing their size. Each chain is cut to fit at home, and it arrives about 9 inches (23 cm) long, plenty for most wrists.

How it works

  1. Cut to fit. Wrap the chain around the wrist, leave about a finger's width, and snip the extra.
  2. Hook the clasp through both end links.
  3. Squeeze it shut with the pliers until the point goes through the hole. Then stop. There's nothing to open, so it stays on until you decide to snip it.
